Portugal boss Roberto Martinez has given his honest take when asked if Bernardo Silva would be a good fit at Barcelona.

According to reports, Barcelona is among a host of clubs that are keen on signing the Portuguese veteran. After sealing a deal for Anthony Gordon, the Catalan club is reportedly interested in signing the 31-year-old midfielder.
Speaking to SPORT, his Portugal national team manager gave his take on if the midfielder would be a good fit for Barcelona. He said (via Barca Buzz on X):
“I think Bernardo Silva is such an exceptional player that he would fit into any dressing room in world football.
“A player of this level rarely becomes available on a free transfer, but he is someone who can adapt to any system and any style.
“He improves the players around him. It’s not about the position; it’s about his football intelligence and the technical level that allows him to excel in every action he takes part in
“I have absolutely no doubt that he would fit at Barça.”
Bernardo Silva and his Portugal squad will take on Nigeria in a friendly before flying to America for the World Cup. Silva is likely to make a decision about his future after the summer tournament.

Speaking after Portugal’s friendly with Chile, Bernardo Silva confirmed that multiple clubs, including Barcelona, are interested in signing him as a free agent. He said in the mixed zone about his future (via A Bola):
“I haven’t made my decision yet. I want to be in a club that wants me, that’s something for sure. A club where I feel I’ll be useful.”
When asked if it’d be a dream come true if he could join Barca, he said:
“Is it a dream? I’m not going to answer that because I don’t know where I’m going to end up. It’s an option I have, but I haven’t made that decision yet. We don’t know what will happen.”
Silva is one of the most highly rated free agents on the market. Atletico Madrid and Juventus are reportedly among the clubs keen on signing the veteran star.
