4 Last-minute matches WWE could add to Money in the Bank 2026

WWE has announced five matches so far for this Saturday’s Money in the Bank Premium Live Event. The show will feature two six-person ladder matches to crown the men’s and women’s Money in the Bank contract winners, a singles clash between Oba Femi and Bronson Reed, a Triple Threat match where Stephanie Vaquer defends the Women’s World Championship against Liv Morgan and Becky Lynch, and finally, the epic encounter between Roman Reigns and LA Knight for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Although WWE tends to keep only a few matches at its big events, Money in the Bank is a flagship show where everyone wants a spot on the card. We have just one episode of SmackDown left before the PLE, but the current storylines suggest that one or two more high-stakes matches could be added to the grand event.

Here are four last-minute matches WWE could add to Money in the Bank 2026

#4 The Usos vs. 946

Jey and Jimmy Uso, facing Bronco Nima and Lucien Price, would give Money in the Bank another match with the potential for a fiery exchange. With 946 tormenting Roman Reigns and their family, the brothers have a reason to fight. The stakes are equally higher for OTM. Sharing a major stage with The Usos would give them the chance to prove that they can hold their own against an established team in a proper match. It should showcase that they are equally dominant in the ring and serious contenders for the Tag Team Championships.

WWE could keep this short and have both teams tear into each other. An OTM victory, with the help of Royce Keys, would give 946 more ammunition. The Usos winning would give the family something to celebrate in this feud, in which they have always ended up victimized.

#3 Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton

Randy Orton cost Cody Rhodes a position in the Money in the Bank ladder match and also at the Undisputed WWE Championship. That alone would give WWE a reason to put these two in the ring together. The American Nightmare lost an opportunity to put himself back into the world title picture, and it’s Randy’s fault. Surely he would want to do something about that?

Their history would give this match almost no reason for doubt. WWE could capitalize on it after another confrontation, with Cody demanding that The Viper stop interfering and face him properly. The interesting thing would be how Cody approaches it. Does he try to wrestle his former mentor, or does his frustration take over, and does he finally embrace his darker persona? That question could lead to another interesting encounter, even without a championship involved.

#2 MFT vs. Shinsuke Nakamura and Kyoki

The MFTs defending the WWE Tag Team Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura and Kyoki would give the tag division a much-needed place on the card. The teams had already been matched, so WWE has something to work with. A title match would give Nakamura and Kyoki a goal and give fans a reason to root for them. Winning against MFT would add to the significance of their partnership.

The champions would benefit, too. A good defense on a big stage would help their reign, especially if they were allowed to win via their own work. It could be a lively opener. Give the challengers enough convincing near falls, and the crowd should get invested. As only a few matches are set for the card, WWE could showcase that the tag team titles are of equal importance and at par with the announced marquee matches.

#1 Chad Gable’s open challenge at Money in the Bank

Both United States champions, Trick Williams and Jacy Jayne, have spots in the Money in the Bank ladder matches. Chad Gable could use an open challenge to draw attention to the Intercontinental Championship at the Premium Live Event. It would be simple enough to set up. Gable walks out, says he wants to defend his title, and waits for someone to answer. The uncertainty gives fans something to look forward to without weeks of buildup.

The WWE creative team would have a few options for the challenger. Someone who needed an opportunity or a surprise return would do just fine. Whoever answers should have enough time to push Gable. Ethan Page, Big Cass, Rusev, and Dragon Lee are among the names who would greatly benefit from a showing at an event like Money in the Bank.
